What is Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019??

The Citizenship amendment act (CAA), 2019 provides a way to gain Indian citizenship for Hindus, Buddhist, Sikhs, Christians, Parsis, Jains who migrated from Muslim- majority countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, before 31 December, 2014.It amends the Citizenship act of 1955. It was passed  by the Parlaiment on December 11, 2019. and it notified the rules of Citizenship Amendment act  on march 11, 2024.
